This year the Miss America Organization has teamed up with Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals. This new partnership gives each contestant the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for two great organizations Miss America Organization and Children's Miracle Network.

I see the great importance of blood donation and I want to educate people so they too understand. I want to minimize the myths about donating blood by giving the facts. I hope to reach as many people as possible so they can help this worthy cause. I am doing this as an ambassador for The Blood Center of Wisconsin by reaching out to our community, and my hope is to broaden my message to the entire state by competing for Miss Wisconsin as Miss Milwaukee.

I am committed to educating the public about blood donation and its significance in everyone's day to day life. We all expect blood to be there for us, but in actuality 60% of the population is eligible to donate blood and only 5% donate. Sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. That time is all too often unexpected. You can have the best doctor, the best facility, but they cannot save your life if the blood is not available. Lives depend on your blood donation-there is NO substitute. 4.5 million lives are saved by blood transfusions each year.
